About

[ˈɡweɾo]

güero is a research-driven platform and shop for Mexican craft and traditional folk art.
Our handmde products reflect the diversity and cultural richness of Mexico, preserving the heritage of centuries-old techniques and regional characteristics deeply rooted in Mexican identity. These crafts embody a story, a community, and a creative process that has endured through generations.

We work directly with small workshops and maker communities across Mexico to document each piece with clear provenance and trace materials, techniques and lineages. The platform extends beyond retail. Our vision is to build a growing archive of materials, artisans, and techniques that can be valuable to designers, students, and anyone interested in how things are made.

By connecting makers with a European audience, we support the continuation of skills that rely on real use and fair compensation. What we offer is straightforward: objects with traceable origins and thorough documentation—meant to be lived with, studied, and kept in circulation.
